1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down a procedure for handling and cleaning of standard weights.




2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure is applicable to the Warehouse Department of <Company Name>

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Warehouse personnel are responsible to clean the standard weights.

3.2 Head - warehouse or the designee is responsible to ensure the compliance.

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 Handling

4.1.1 Identify all the standard weights with identification number as per the Annexure: 01 (Accessories Code Allotment Register).

4.1.2 All the weights shall be kept in a closed SS trolley with lock and key under the supervision of Warehouse personnel. 

4.2 Cleaning

4.2.1 Clean the standard weight after completion of every weighing activity.

4.2.2 Clean the SS weights by wiping with dry lint free cloth.

4.2.3 Fractional weights shall be clean with soft brooms.
