Operation of RO water System

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for operation of R.O plant.


2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable for operation of R.O plant

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 Switch on the raw water pump, from which the raw water is pumped in to sand filter bed. 

4.2 Which contain 1500 lts of sand from where water passes through the activated charcoal bed, which contain 1500 lts of charcoal approximately, into a 20 µ filter the outlet water from 20 µ filter passes through very fine 5 µ filters.

4.3 Switch on the main switch in main panel board, and then high pressure pump, dosing pump and TDS meter are automatically switched on.

4.4 Observe the flow rates in flow meters and input pressure of the R. O membrane in pressure gauge, which is connected in between the high pressure pump outlet and R.O membrane inlet.

4.5 The operating pressure of the R.O membranes are 15kg/cm2

4.6 After the R.O membrane, there is a valve which sends 60% of water to the R.O water collection tank and remaining 40% to drain.

4.7 The collected R.O water is used as raw water for the Purified water plant.

NOTE:

a) It is necessary to wash the both sand and charcoal filter beds daily before starting of the R.O plant.

b) See the water level in the raw water storage tank before starting of the R.O plant.

Cleaning of RO water storage tank. 

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To lay down a procedure for cleaning of RO water storage tank. 

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable for cleaning of RO water storage tank present in the Indian Genomix Private, Limited, Cherlapally, Hyderabad.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 Disconnect the RO water storage tank inlet and outlet valves.

4.2 Scrub the Stainless steel 5KL RO water storage tank. 

4.3 Apply the 15 litres of Soap oil and clean the thoroughly by rubbing the walls against the walls of the tank with scrubber. 

4.4 Then Flush the tank with 700 Litres of Raw water. 

4.5 Given the final rinse with RO water. 

4.6 Send rinse sample to Quality Control.
