Entry and Exit Procedure in microbiology lab personnel and visitors

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To describe a procedure for Entry and Exit in Microbiology lab for personnel and visitors.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to Entry and Exit in Microbiology Lab for personnel and visitors in company name

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Microbiologist /Officer is responsible for the execution. 

3.2 HOD or designee is accountable for review, effective implementation and compliance to the entry and exit procedure.               

4.0 DEFINITION(s)

5.0 PROCEDURE 

5.1 Entry Procedure of Microbiology personnel

5.1.1 Clean up the shoe bottom by rubbing against the foot mat at the main entrance of the Microbiology Lab.

5.1.2 Enter into the Entrance room by pushing the entry room door. 

5.1.3 Wear shoe covers provided by sitting on the cross over bench and              cross it to other side or if want to wear the lab foot wear provided, leave the street footwear in the designated place. Then Cross the cross over bench and wear the Lab footwear.

5.1.4 Wear the apron, head cap and nose mask from the respective   cupboard.

5.1.5 Disinfect the hands with disinfectant provided.

5.1.6 Enter into the respective microbiology area by pushing the corridor door.

5.1.7 Enter into the microbiology Entrance room by pulling the incubator room door and then corridor door.

5.2 Exit procedure of Microbiology personnel

5.2.1 Remove the apron and hang at designated place. 

5.2.2 Leave laboratory footwear in the designated place.

5.2.3 Sit on the cross over bench and cross it to other side.

5.2.4 Remove the shoe covers, head cap and nose mask and then put them in the dustbin provided at the outside the lab.

5.2.5 Wear the street foot wear from the designated place.

5.2.6 Exit from the microbiology entrance room by pulling the door.

5.3 Entry procedure of visitors into Microbiology

5.3.1 Clean up the shoe bottom by rubbing against the foot mat at the main entrance of the Microbiology Lab. Enter into the microbiology entrance room by pushing the door. 

5.3.2 Wear the shoe covers, head cap and nose mask provided by sitting on the cross over bench.

5.3.3 Then cross the cross over bench and wear the Visitor apron from the cupboard, enter into respective area by pushing the corridor door.

5.3.4 Enter into the microbiology entrance area by pulling the corridor door.

5.4 Exit procedure of visitors into Microbiology 

5.4.1 Remove the apron and hang at designated place and cross the cross over bench. 

5.4.2 Remove the head cap shoe covers and nose mask and then put them in dustbin provided at the outside the lab. Exit from the Microbiology Entrance room by pulling the door.
